ABOUT OUR CLUB: The Kiwanis Club of Wilton is one of more then 9000 similar Clubs throughout the world, whose men and women members build friendships while they work together to serve their community. With its current 140-150 members our Wilton Kiwanis is the largest in New England. Our goal is to continue to expand our membership and broaden our positive influence. Click here for an invitation letter from our President. WHEN AND WHERE WE MEET: We meet each Wednesday at noon at the Episcopal/Presbyterian Church complex on New Canaan Rd.(WEPCO). In the summer we meet at Kiwanis Park (on the "Y" grounds.). See meeting information for directions. Our meetings generally follow this format:
HOW YOU WOULD BE INDUCTED; Your Sponsors will ask you to attend two luncheons as their guest. You would then meet informally with our Membership Committee, be approved by our Board and then be introduced to the club as our newest member. YOUR QUARTERLY COSTS WOULD BE: We bill each regular member $145 each quarter. Most of this covers the cost of your weekly lunches (whether you attend or not.) The balance is for club costs and District and National dues. All fund-raising amounts collected (after expenses) goes directly to public service. AS A MEMBER, WE WOULD EXPECT OF YOU: Regular Wednesday attendance whenever your are in town and your business or private schedule permits. We would like you to strive for about two-thirds attendance, but fully understand that other obligations may take precedence. For extended periods of absence, upon your request, our Board grants leaves with a commensurate reduction in quarterly dues. In addition to attendance, since we are a service club, we expect your willing participation in our various fund-raising and direct service projects. Again, participation will be anticipated based upon your own time constraints. Over the years we have found that our best leadership and our most stimulating friendships have evolved directly in proportion to one’s degree of involvement. You will find yourself working with a broad cross-section of Wilton’s most-civically active public and private citizens. No service club or similar organization is more widely recognized and respected. We believe our organization provides a strong platform for entry into our town's infinite range of activities. WHAT YOUR TIME AND EFFORT WOULD ENTAIL:
ITS UP TO YOU We truly hope you elect to join with us in friendship and in public service. Why not come as our guest for two or three lunches to sense our vitality. Then when we invite you to become a member please say yes by filling out our membership application. There is no money required with the application. You will be billed by our treasurer.
